Tamarind Restaurant in Ithaca

http://fastestnews-cosmaticadvice.blogspot.com/
Thai food is never been my favorite. But I like Phat Thai because it is quite good. May be my taste changed but I consider my earlier decision. When we are in Ithaca me and my husband went to a restaurant called Tamarind. Thai? I don’t know what make me choose Thai? Well, I saw the menu and look at the fish balls there. I use to have these fish balls with amazing soup in Arizona- a Vietnamese place. So, I went there for the balls (eh hem). But I didn’t order it because I was distracted. Reason for my distraction is a ton of duck dishes on the menu. I never been a big fan of duck because most of the ducks I have ever had is swimming in a pool of grease. Poor me- hey, have I been missing out. My husband was more courageous eater that is why he was debating between the two duck dishes. One was Chochee Duck and the other one was Honey Roasted Duck. We asked our very sweet waitress that which duck he should order. She said the Chochee Duck is quite popular dish among the visitors. I was doubtful that is there duck was going to be good. Why they a ton of duck dishes in there menu? Oh yeah. My husband let me eat a piece. Yup 'A' piece. It was light, juicy and tasty piece of meat, I have ever had. Yes meat. Of course I asked what sort of duck this was. That beautiful waitress said, "Our chefs are trained to prepare this secret recipe of making duck that was found only in one area of Thailand”. (I don't think I ever found a recipe for it).
I can not wait to come back to Ithaca and have some of my own Chochee Duck!

But it’s okay, on to the recipe at hand. Here our first course was soup. It was really minus the kefir lime leaves, that is basically the same exact soup. I was quite happy to find this recipe because Ithaca is a long way away!
Oh I had very yummy food here that includes a yellow curry rice dish with pineapple, raisins, shrimp, chicken and Chinese sausage. For dessert we shared sticky mango rice. Amazingly Delicious.
